Buxus sempervirens Variegata adds elegant color and texture to garden spaces. This upright-growing boxwood has small, green oval leaves edged in creamy yellow. From a distance, this refined shrub appears ivory in color. Growing at a rate of 3 in. to 6 in. per year, Variegata makes a lovely, low hedge or border. Because it responds well to shearing, its ideal for topiary, the art of sculpting live plants into ornamental forms. Also known as Variegated English Boxwood, Variegata grows well in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil.
