Informally known as 1 of the Iron-clad rhododendrons, Nova Zembla is easy to grow and hardy even into southern portions of zone 4. It has an upright habit growing to 5 to 8 ft. tall, and 5 ft. to 6 ft. W. Evergreen leaves stay green all Winter. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Covered with brightly colored flowers each spring beginning in April or May, depending on your zone. Zones 4-8. More heat tolerant than most, does well in all of zone 8.
